ULTIMATE NETWORKING – Networking Goals & Objectives

Once you have selected a networking, social or business event to attend it is recommended that you define your primary goals and objectives. Also, establish a timeline and decide if you are going alone or inviting others: which may include friends, associates or clients. Use the teamwork approach and help each other new contacts. Use your associates to advantage by edifying each other in discussions with prospects.

*NETWORKING CAN GET YOU ALMOST ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU WANT*

SPECIAL POINTS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU GO AND WHEN YOU GET THERE –

–   Establish a set of qualifying questions to determine that those you meet are prospects that fit your target market. If not, move on but don’t forget to ask them if they know anyone attending, who might be interested in your products or services

–   Start out with a positive attitude and minimize your ego

–   Lower your expectations, so as not to be disappointed with your results, when dealing with others

–   Make it a point to target individuals who meet your objectives and would be worthwhile prospects

–   Meet with the event promoter and ask them if they know anyone at the event that could be a good connection

–   Ask any friend or associate, you meet at the event, if they know anyone attending who they could refer to you

–   Establish a set time to work the event and if you have not made any favorable connections, then make your exit. Always work the crowd for contacts, referrals and new relationships
