Network Marketing… is it more than just luck? by George Madiou

George-MadiouYou really have more control over your destiny than you might think. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if my dreams, desires and dares were attainable and more than just luck? The answer is, it much more than just luck! That’s the good news. The bad news is that network marketing is more than just luck. “Hey what do you mean it’s both good news and bad news”?

Because the answer to your success lies within your hands and it starts with a decision AND action. Nike’s “Just Do It” slogan is more than just a slogan and luck has nothing to do with it.

Take control. That can be a scary thought, however it could be the most exhilarating feeling that you experience. The sense of accomplishment you feel by taking control can be addicting (in a good way)! Taking control can start off small. As a matter of fact, no one has to know you are starting, except of course you!  NULL  How do you start? Get in a quiet place, relax and get ready to spend a few minutes of “you” time. Examine where you are right now in your life. This works if you’re going down this path for the first time or you’re a “successful” networker. This exercise is a valuable exercise to repeat at every stage in your journey and do it often. Visualize where you want to be, (not where you think you could be). See yourself in that place five years from this date. See the sights, experience the smells, feel the place you are at. You want to do this exercise often through out your journey. Each time the details will get more vivid. Write it down. Expand upon it. This will become the road map of your success journey and away from the journey of luck.

You can choose to make your life the results of the Saturday night lottery drawing or you could BE the winning lottery ticket.

Start small on your journey and be patient. Savor the small victories and keep a success journal along the way. Break down the steps into doable activities and then “Just Do It”. If you see yourself moved into a new home, take a little place in a room or your garage now and start to clean it and throw out those things you don’t want to take with you. Every little step, every 2-minute project counts for one of your victories. As the days and weeks go by you will be able to review these victories in your journal and see them in your life. Take control of your business. Consistency is the answer.

Don’t confuse activity with success.

There are many important activities that will help you along the way (attending trainings, understanding your comp plan, reading and learning from the contributors that write for The Network Marketing Magazine.com) but none of these will take the place of the big three. Demonstrate your product, show your plan and follow up. If you can consistently do one of these three activities, the luck factor goes away and the “you” factor takes over. How often should you do one of these three activities? That is completely up to you. It’s part of your plan. It’s dependant upon your present day reality. You are in charge. You make up the rules. You decide. The only important thing is to start. Just do it! Will it change as time goes on? You bet! Just like cleaning that room or the garage, as time passes and you become more consistent at the three critical business building activities, you will become more proficient and competent and you will start getting more and more results, and results is the fuel that move you from the luck factor to the “you” factor. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect”. The cause and effect in network marketing is the consistency in which you treat your business. Thomas Jefferson said it best when he said, “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more luck I have”. Decide what it is that you want in life, and take the first step (and then the next and keep going). It’s the “you” factor, not the luck factor that will give you the success you are seeking in your network marketing business. Aim high! George Madiou
