Direct Selling is the Answer for Women

Whether you are interested in a party plan business, network marketing or person-to-person sales, you are in the right place today.

When we launched DSWA.org in 2011 women made up less than 50% of all direct sellers worldwide.   In 2016 74% of all direct sellers were women. 2017 has been a banner year for women rising to the top in their companies around the globe.

More young people are choosing to be their own boss than ever before.  Many retirees have realized the need for additional income and are finding direct selling as a viable source.  Women are leading the way in all age groups.

Here are some of the reasons why women are leaving the corporate world or being a stay at home Mom to join the direct selling profession:

Freedom and Flexibility

Many women choose to be able to raise their children while contributing to the household income.  Also – many adult children are caring for their elderly parents and it is difficult to do so with full-time employment.  Direct selling offers flexibility to work your business around your life and what is important to you.

Low Risk and Start-up Costs

Unlike franchises or other types of businesses, direct selling companies offer reasonable start up fees. Most start-up kits are under $500 and some as low as $10. This cost can be earned back in the first few months if the person begins sharing products with others immediately.

Continuing Education

Most direct selling companies provide you with the training, tools and process to start and grow a thriving business.  Companies not only offer training about the products, they also have social media, leadership, communication and other personal development courses.  The DSWA loves partnering with companies to offer curriculum and speak at live training events to grow the sales force.  Education is a key to creating sustainable success.

Savings

As a distributor you receive a significant discount on products and services.  Many times, the more you sell and the higher the rank, your discount is greater. Be a product of your product and purchase from your own store.

No Glass Ceiling

You decide how big you want to grow your business.  There is nothing to stop you (except yourself). No boss decides your value.  No one puts a cap on your income or advancement.  You are in charge of your destiny.

Relationships and Fun

Being in direct sales means you get to interact with people from all walks of life. Direct selling is a great way to meet new people, build long-term relationships and make money while you do it.  Incentive trips are a big bonus in the world of direct selling. It is fun to take your spouse and/or family members on an exotic all expense paid adventure!

Money

The amount of money you make in direct selling depends on how much you sell, sponsor and teach others to do the same. Many women are just looking for an additional $100 to $500 per month.  Others are looking to replace a six figure corporate income. The amount you can earn is unlimited and directly related to the amount of time and effort you are willing to invest in your own enterprise.

Nicki began her career as a distributor in the direct selling profession more than 30 years ago after leaving her teaching position.
