Questions from a Network Marketing Rebel.
After joining, and leaving, so many companies in the Network Marketing/Direct Sales Industry, I know this time is different.
Why may you ask? Because I asked for another shot; another “ground floor” opportunity that will revolutionize the industry and the world, as we know it. Such opportunity found me, I believe; yet, those questions started to arise as I set out to build my business…
…you know those questions…the pesky, self-doubtful,
and there were many.
“Is this something I really want to do right now? “
“Should I get a regular job again to bring in steady income while doing this even though I said my last job was in the way of doing this?”
“Do I really have the time to build another business right now? “
“Can a solo mom of 5 sons, with little to no other financial support really do this?”
“Has anyone in my shoes done it before? If so, where is she?”
“Is my ‘warm’ market really cold and tired of me and my crazy ideas?”
“Does my upline even know what I have to deal with? Do they even care? Should they?”
“Am I really going to make back my initial investment (disguised as bill money) during the ‘blitz’ promotion?”
“Are all of these questions really cleverly-masked excuses that I need to overcome anyway?”
You get the gist…
Here is the reality….
There is definitely something to be said about the massive success of so many people within this amazing industry. A growing number of people who desire flexibility and the ability to balance their work with spending time with their families are joining Direct Sales and Network Marketing companies exponentially every year. There are only a few industries where one can create as little or as much income as one desires. According to statistics gathered by the Direct Selling Association (DSA.org), “A record 20.5 million people were involved in direct selling in the United States in 2016, a 1.5% increase from the previous year.
Estimated direct retail sales of $35.54 billion in 2016 is the second most in direct selling history.” It’s pretty safe to say that the industry is here to stay, and only growing larger.
For me, however, here’s where the proverbial rubber meets the road:
We are paid based on personal production (say that three times fast.); we are no longer trading time directly for dollars.
It is in this way that we get a chance to find out about what are we truly made. It is in this industry where what we say we want runs smack into what we actually demonstrate.
It exposes all of the places within where excuses may hide; all the nooks and crannies filled with “the story” we say we want to change.
So, knowing this, I made a decision. I decided to be here, to be in it,
To be her!
I decided to be the dynamic woman that overcomes herself and her circumstances and becomes a beacon of network marketing success. I will be a demonstration of what a leader looks like without a “safety net”. While everyone’s success journey is a great part of the whole success of our industry, I know there are those who question what is possible for even those of us that may have a slightly murkier path.
I will be the person for whom I’ve been waiting.
I will…no, better yet, I shall be a fully present Mom, connected to my “why”, able to go where I want, do what I want, Whenever and for however long I want… FREE from any limitations.
To answer myself…
YES, I AM teachable and coachable…. I may require a teeny bit more teaching and coaching than other dynamo business builders, but I will get there.
One thing I know for sure, as said by so many of the great teachers and leaders in this industry and beyond, I must FIRST solidify my belief and the possibility of my new normal in my OWN mind. My being a Network Marketing Professional must be real to me; the feelings, the potential, all of it.
It begins with ME!
