The Track Record by Julie Ziglar Norman

Julie Ziglar NormanGet Published – Be Known Before people do business with you they want to know something about you. They are naturally curious about your track record. Are you a success? Can you teach them what they want and need to know? Do you have credibility? If they Google you, will they be able to see that you are a force in your chosen industry? Have you been a guest on blogs; on radio shows; podcasts; webcasts; television shows; in magazines online or in print?

Leaders show up when their names are searched on the Internet and the best way I know to become a guest on all the venues I mentioned above is to take my father’s advice: WRITE A BOOK!

Dad has long said that writing his book, See You at the Top!, did more for his career than any other thing he did to try to promote his business. NULL

My first solo book, Growing Up Ziglar: A Daughter’s Broken Journey from Heartache to Hope, was published May 1, 2012 by Guideposts Books. Since that date the publicist who was hired by my publisher to promote the book has arranged over 50 radio interviews, several guest blogs, magazine articles, and 7 interviews on television shows. The response has been amazing and we’re not even past the first month yet!

Take a close look at the cover of my book. There’s me… and my Dad. There are a whole lot of people in this world who have never heard of me and even a few who have not heard of Dad. Their first exposure to either of us might be at the book counter in Sam’s Club, in Kroger, at a Hudson Booksellers store at an airport, at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, or Christianbook.com just to name a few. Guideposts magazine did a feature story on me that included several pictures in their May edition to help promote the book. I have been truly surprised to have been recognized in public places by people who read the article. I am used to people stopping my father to say they read his book or saw him on TV – it’s an entirely new experience for me. I’d also like to mention that I’ve booked speaking engagements with companies I could only hope to be involved with before this book came out. I know, you might be thinking, “Yeah, but I’m not Zig Ziglar’s daughter” and that would be true unless you’re my sister Cindy. But Dad wasn’t related to anyone with a recognizable name when he wrote his first book and look what happened to him! Give it some thought… you might have a book in you after all!
